Terms of Service

Welcome to Local Class Co. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Local Class Co website, booking platform, and related services (collectively, the “Platform”). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Platform.

1. About Local Class Co

Local Class Co is an online platform that connects participants with independent instructors offering classes, workshops, and educational experiences.

Local Class Co acts solely as a marketplace and booking platform. We are not the provider, organizer, operator, or supervisor of the classes listed on the Platform, and we do not control the content, instruction, or delivery of classes offered by instructors.

2. Independent Instructors

All instructors who offer classes through Local Class Co do so independently and are not employees, agents, partners, joint venturers, or representatives of Local Class Co.

Each instructor is solely responsible for:

their class content, instruction, and teaching methods;
scheduling, hosting, and delivering classes;
determining and maintaining any qualifications, licenses, permits, or certifications they deem necessary or that may be required by law;
complying with applicable laws, regulations, and safety obligations; and
providing an appropriate and safe environment for participants.

Local Class Co does not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, availability, or suitability of any instructor, class, or event.

3. Eligibility and Minors

You must be at least 18 years old to independently create an account, book a class, register for a class, host a class, or otherwise use the Platform.

Individuals under the age of 18 may only participate in or register for a class with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, and only if the applicable class permits participation by minors.

By using the Platform, you represent that the information you provide is accurate, current, and complete.

4. Bookings and Payments

By booking a class through the Platform, you agree to pay all applicable fees, charges, and taxes associated with your booking.

Payments are processed through third-party payment processors. By submitting payment information, you authorize Local Class Co and its third-party payment providers to charge your selected payment method for the total amount due.

Class prices are determined by instructors and may change at any time before a booking is confirmed.

Local Class Co reserves the right to refuse, cancel, or limit bookings where necessary to prevent fraud, misuse, or violations of these Terms.

5. Cancellation and Refund Policy

Unless otherwise stated on an individual class listing, the following standard cancellation policy applies:

Cancellations made 24 hours or more before the scheduled class start time are eligible for a full refund or class credit.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled class start time are non-refundable.
Failure to attend a class without notice (“no-show”) is non-refundable.

Some instructors may choose to apply a more restrictive cancellation policy. Any such policy will be clearly displayed on the applicable class listing and will supersede the standard cancellation policy for that class.

If an instructor cancels a class, participants will generally be offered a full refund or class credit.

Refunds, when approved, will be issued to the original payment method where possible and remain subject to the processing timelines and policies of the applicable payment provider.

6. Participant Responsibility and Assumption of Risk

Participation in classes may involve physical activity, use of tools, materials, or equipment, interaction with other participants, travel to class locations, or other inherent risks.

By registering for or participating in a class booked through Local Class Co, you acknowledge that participation is voluntary and at your own discretion and risk. You are solely responsible for determining whether a class is appropriate for your abilities, experience level, health, and physical condition.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation in any class, workshop, or event booked through the Platform.

7. Instructor Cancellations, Changes, and Class Conditions

Instructors are solely responsible for the scheduling and operation of their classes. Instructors may need to cancel, reschedule, relocate, or modify a class due to illness, weather, emergencies, low enrollment, venue issues, or other circumstances.

Local Class Co is not responsible for losses, costs, or damages arising from class cancellations, schedule changes, venue changes, or instructor modifications, except as expressly stated in the cancellation and refund policy above.

8. Insurance

Local Class Co does not provide insurance coverage for instructors, participants, venues, or events unless explicitly stated otherwise in writing.

Instructors are solely responsible for determining whether they should obtain liability insurance or any other insurance appropriate to their activities, venues, or participants.

9. User Conduct

You agree not to:

use the Platform for any unlawful, fraudulent, or unauthorized purpose;
harass, threaten, discriminate against, or otherwise harm instructors, participants, or other users;
submit false, misleading, or inaccurate information;
interfere with the operation, security, or integrity of the Platform;
attempt to access accounts, systems, or data that you are not authorized to access; or
use the Platform in any way that could damage, disable, or impair our services.

We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the Platform at any time if we believe a user has violated these Terms or engaged in conduct that may harm Local Class Co, instructors, participants, or third parties.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on the Platform, including text, graphics, logos, branding, website design, and other materials provided by Local Class Co, is owned by Local Class Co or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, modify, or otherwise use any Local Class Co content without prior written permission, except for personal, non-commercial use as permitted by law.

11. Third-Party Services

The Platform may rely on or integrate with third-party services, including payment processors, website hosting providers, scheduling tools, analytics providers, embedded content providers, and email service providers.

Local Class Co is not responsible for the acts, omissions, policies, availability, security, or performance of any third-party services, and your use of those services may also be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform and all related services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Local Class Co disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, or reliability.

Without limiting the foregoing, Local Class Co does not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from viruses or other harmful components, or that any class, instructor, or event will meet your expectations.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Local Class Co and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, volunteers, affiliates, and representatives shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity arising out of or related to your use of the Platform or participation in any class.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Local Class Co shall not be liable for any injury, illness, death, property damage, theft, loss, expense, claim, or dispute arising out of or related to:

any class, workshop, or event listed on the Platform;
the acts or omissions of any instructor, participant, venue, or third party;
cancellations, delays, schedule changes, venue changes, or class modifications; or
your use of or inability to use the Platform.

If, notwithstanding the foregoing, Local Class Co is found liable for any claim arising out of or relating to a booking, Local Class Co’s total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount actually paid by you for the specific booking giving rise to the claim.

14. Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Local Class Co and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, volunteers, affiliates, and representatives from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of or related to:

your use of the Platform;
your participation in a class or event;
your violation of these Terms;
your violation of any law or the rights of any third party; or
any content, information, or materials you submit through the Platform.

15. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if we determine, in our sole discretion, that your use of the Platform creates risk or potential legal exposure for Local Class Co or others.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised Effective Date. Your continued use of the Platform after revised Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles.
